My recent stay at The Marlborough Hotel was a mixed experience. The location is fantastic, just a short walk from the historic Burton Cummings Theater. While the front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, some aspects of the room left much to be desired. I enjoyed the clean restaurants and welcoming bar, but the overall condition of the room and the lack of proper amenities were disappointing.

The room I stayed in showed signs of wear and tear. it had peeling wallpaper, damp spots on the ceiling, and needed better ventilation. It felt quite hot and stuffy, which made it uncomfortable.

While the staff at the front desk were cheerful and accommodating, the service regarding room issues was lacking. I noticed a general attitude of indifference when I raised concerns about the room condition.

Unfortunately, the hotel lacked proper facilities. there was no ice machine on my floor, and additional amenities like fridges were missing from the rooms.

My stay at The Marlborough Hotel was surprisingly pleasant, given its mixed reputation. The location is incredibly central, allowing easy access to attractions and dining. The rooms, while older, were clean and offered comfort, though they could use some updates. I found the service to be friendly and accommodating, which really enhanced my experience.

Though the hotel rooms are somewhat dated, they were kept clean and comfortable. I appreciated that some were newly renovated with laminate flooring rather than carpet, which added a nice touch.

My stay at The Marlborough Hotel was quite mixed. While the hotel's location in downtown Winnipeg is excellent, the condition of the rooms was disappointing. There were issues with cleanliness, and some amenities were not as advertised, which really impacted my experience.

Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in had a strong mildew smell and showed signs of neglect, such as cigarette burns despite being a non-smoking room. The bathrooms were particularly unpleasant, and the overall cleanliness was below expectations.
Service
5.0
The staff I encountered during check-in were pleasant, but the lack of willingness to resolve my concerns about the room was frustrating. It felt like customer service was more interested in deflecting issues than providing solutions.
Location
5.0
The location is really the highlight; it's close to local attractions and the downtown area. However, I did feel uneasy at night due to the presence of transients nearby.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast options were decent, offering a few menu choices, but it would have been nicer if it were buffet-style. The quality of what I had was satisfactory for a quick meal.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities, including the elevators and air conditioning, did not meet modern standards, which negatively affected my stay. I also noticed a lack of laundry facilities, which was surprising.
